Dining room

It is certainly taking a looooonnnnggg time to get the doors ready to glue in.  In the mean time I painted where the baseboarding will be just to get an idea of the effect.  I also straightened up a bit in the dining room again, just to see how it will eventually appear.
For some reason, I find this a cheerful sight.

Progress!

I was working like a mad woman and progress was made....  I got lights in the dining room and morning room.  The dining room is somewhat expanded which is really what I wanted to have to so that what you see here can happen.  The rugs can be rolled up, the tables put to the side under what will eventually be a row of windows and there is room for - DANCING!

The second photo is a mini child's eye-view sort of, kind of.
There is going to be a whole new floor in here.  The doors are not yet glued in, they are just set in place to get the effect.

Clearing up in Ariel

I'm doing some clearing up in Ariel prior to some serious work done on the place.
I've placed a large order with Hobby Builder's Supply and can hardly wait to get going!
Meanwhile, here are some pics of Ariel looking in areas better than it has for well nigh on a year I think.
In this picture I was glad to get the first picture hung in the parlour.   There will be a picture rail there and the hanging ribbon will eventually be very fine but for now....
And the baseboarding is on order, very, very exciting.....

 I just wanted to put up the wall pocket too.  It needs some sheet music in there or at least a magazine or two of the period.

These 3 fellows are simply everywhere!

Slothaven's Dining room gets a frieze

As the title said...  There will always be a wedding about to happen in this room.  I'm proud of how well I did up these extremely cheap Greenleaf chairs.  It was in 2005 and under tense times when hubby was facing a layoff which happened and resulted in a major move/relocation.  I made chairs like crazy, 9 of these and 14  from House of Miniature kits.    This is how you can make hay out of hard times!
        That obnoxious & ostentatious looking chandelier I was making when recouperating from have all 4 wisdom teeth out and suffering from another tooth that needed a root canal and had to wait till I finished recouping, ugh!

        And it still needs a bit of cornice!
